Senior Electrical Design Engineer – Building Services

Overview

In this role you will deliver electrical building services designs from concept to completion within a fast-growing London M&E consultancy. You’ll work as part of a multidisciplinary team on data centre, commercial, residential and education projects, shaping electrical solutions and coordinating with other engineers. You’ll engage with clients and stakeholders to ensure designs meet regulatory standards and project goals. The role offers a clear path to seniority through mentoring junior engineers and leading design teams.

Responsibilities

• Design electrical building services systems across multiple sectors including Data Centres, Commercial, Residential and Education
• Produce electrical calculations, specifications and technical reports
• Design LV distribution, lighting, small power, emergency lighting, fire alarms and other building services systems
• Coordinate designs with mechanical, architectural and structural engineers using BIM/Revit where appropriate
• Attend client meetings, site visits and design team meetings
• Support project delivery through all RIBA stages
• Ensure designs comply with current British Standards and Building Regulations

Key requirements

• 3-5 years’ experience as an Electrical Design Engineer within a Building Services consultancy
• Degree in Electrical Engineering or Building Services Engineering
• Experience with Data Centres
• Proficiency in Amtech, Dialux and AutoCAD; Revit experience highly desirable
• Strong communication skills to liaise with clients and project teams
• Willingness to attend project sites across London
• Proactive mindset with ambition to progress into senior or leadership position
