Senior Manufacturing Engineer – Carbon Planning Supply Chain 

Overview

In this role you will provide Manufacturing Engineering support to the FalconWorks Airframe Supply Chain Team, ensuring on-time, cost-effective parts delivery to manufacturing build areas. You will create and maintain manufacturing data with SAPCAMS, CATIA, Siemens NX, and Teamcenter VisView, while supporting external suppliers and driving Design for Manufacture feedback. You will lead cross-functional collaboration, apply Lean methods, and support Quality and SHE systems. This onsite role at Samlesbury offers meaningful work within BAE Systems’ defence and aerospace mission.

Responsibilities

• Create and maintain Manufacturing Engineering data for external suppliers using SAPCAMS, CATIA, Siemens NX, and Teamcenter VisView
• Support objective setting and use appropriate tools/techniques to achieve results
• Contribute to Quality and SHE systems for Manufacturing Engineering processes and documentation
• Build relationships with internal teams, cross-functional stakeholders and external suppliers to support project delivery
• Provide feedback to design teams via Design for Manufacture (DFM) reviews for FalconWorks products
• Create and submit non-conformance reports for externally supplied parts using SAPCAMS and lead investigations using Lean tools including Root Cause Analysis
• Provide build-line support to external suppliers by managing and resolving SQNs
• Support procurement activities with engineering expertise to ensure effective component management

Key requirements

• HNC or Foundation degree with experience in a Manufacturing Engineering role
• Professional knowledge of relevant Engineering standards (including SHE)
• Experience with root cause analysis and containment/corrective action reporting
• Knowledge of carbon manufacturing processes and specifications
• Experience with Design for Manufacture reviews using Teamcentre PLM and Teamcentre Unified or similar PLM system
• Involvement in FalconWorks Supply Chain IPT (Integrated Project Team)
• Ability to deliver Manufacturing Engineering outputs to external supply chain and mentor others
• On-site role with travel within the UK to visit suppliers
