Your new company HAYS Architecture & Design are working in partnership with an established and highly regarded construction contractor in Northern Ireland as they seek to appoint a Design Coordinator to strengthen their growing team.

They have particular experience in Design & Build, traditional construction and project management.

Your new role As Design Coordinator, you will play an integral role in the successful delivery of construction projects, acting as an important link between the internal construction team, external design consultants, specialist subcontractors and wider project stakeholders.
You will help coordinate design information through the pre-construction and construction stages, ensuring information is accurate, coordinated and available in line with programme requirements. Working closely with Design Managers, Contracts Managers, site teams and consultants, you will help identify and resolve design issues, monitor design development and support the smooth transition of information from design through to construction.
The position offers significant exposure to the wider project delivery process and represents an excellent opportunity for someone who wants to develop beyond a purely architectural or technical design position and become more involved in design management.
What you’ll need to succeed You will ideally come from an Architectural Technology, Architecture, Construction Management, Engineering or similarly relevant construction background, with experience of coordinating technical information across construction projects.Previous experience working for a main contractor would be advantageous, although applications are equally encouraged from Architectural Technologists, Architects or technical design professionals working within consultancy who are interested in making the move into contracting.
You should be comfortable reviewing technical information, coordinating across multiple disciplines and building relationships with consultants, subcontractors and project teams. Strong communication, organisation and problem-solving skills will be important, together with a practical understanding of how design decisions ultimately translate onto site.
