Principal Product Characterisation Engineer (Production Test)

Overview

As Principal Engineer at Pragmatic Semiconductor, you will lead product-level characterisation and define the test strategy to translate requirements into effective coverage and actionable insights. You will manage a small engineering team focused on automated, volume test solutions and collaborate with Device and IC Validation teams to optimise wafer-level characterisation in Production Test. Your RF expertise and data-driven approach will inform design improvements, production-test strategy and release decisions during a key scale-up phase.

Responsibilities

• Lead and technically guide a small engineering team on complex deliverables and test case development
• Design and implement RF/Analogue test strategies aligned with production requirements
• Oversee automation hardware/software for test case execution and integration into Pragmatic’s systems
• Communicate findings with diverse stakeholders and present characterisation data to project teams
• Develop and optimise wafer-level Characterisation tests in a Production Test (ATE) environment
• Partner with cross-functional teams to inform design improvements, test strategies, and product-release decisions

Key requirements

• Automated hardware test solutions development with semiconductor test principles
• RF/Analogue electronics expertise with practical problem-solving experience
• Experience with PCB schematic design and review
• Software automation experience in at least one language (Python, LabVIEW, C#, C++)
• Data analysis and presentation skills demonstrated on real-world engineering problems
• Strong grasp of measurement integrity, statistics, variation, repeatability, correlation, and uncertainty
