EHS Manager

Overview

In this role you drive environmental, health & safety and process safety performance for Welwyn Garden City and Dunstable sites, ensuring compliance and advancing to best-in-class standards. You act as a trusted contact for regulators and internal leadership, shaping EHS across manufacturing, distribution and office environments. You will develop and implement robust EHS management systems and lead cross-functional improvement initiatives. This position offers broad exposure to a global chemical company with a strong focus on safety culture and continuous development.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day EHS for Welwyn Garden City site and provide ad hoc support to Dunstable DC
• Develop and deliver effective EHS management systems to meet obligations and expectations
• Act as liaison with regulators and external stakeholders on environmental, process safety, and fire risk issues
• Lead efforts to improve environmental, process safety, and occupational health performance
• Collaborate with site leadership to embed EHS into daily operations
• Support annual reviews and development plans for EHS staff

Key requirements

• NEBOSH General Certificate (or equivalent) with NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent an advantage
• ISO 45001, 14001 and 9001 experience with internal auditor qualification
• Environmental Management qualification and Environmental Permitting experience
• Experience of manufacturing processes and associated hazards
• Proficient in IT systems for data recording, presentation and analysis
• Unrestricted right to work in the UK
