Managing Director, Head of Standard Chartered Services Limited (SCSL)

Overview

In this role you will lead SCSL to deliver strong governance, reporting, and commercial performance. You will align SCSL strategy with the Group Technology & Operations agenda and report to the SCSL Board on outcomes and strategic progress. You will shape 3–5 year plans, drive strategic initiatives, and ensure compliant, efficient technology services delivery. You will partner across Technology, Operations, and country teams to manage risks, controls, and budgets. This is a high-impact role at the intersection of governance, strategy, and operational excellence in a global bank context.

Responsibilities

• Create and steer the SCSL strategy for a 3–5 year horizon aligned with Technology and Operations strategy and Group needs
• Drive execution of strategic initiatives and report progress to the SCSL Board
• Own the operation of SCSL, understanding the wider business context and influencing T&O delivery to solve critical problems
• Foster governance structures, frameworks, controls, and protocols for SCSL
• Manage financial performance, budgets, liquidity, intracompany charging, and alignment with Group policies
• Ensure processes across SCSL comply with SC Group policies and procedures
• Promote continuous process improvements and resilience across operations
• Lead people and talent management, build a high-performing leadership team, and ensure succession planning
• Monitor and manage all material risks, engage committees as needed, and uphold risk appetite and controls
• Ensure regulatory compliance, ethics, environmental and social risk management, and effective governance practices

Key requirements

• Significant experience in a senior technology management or technology-finance role, preferably in financial services
• Strong understanding of operations, processes, controls, and delivering commercial outcomes
• Proven track record of delivering initiatives, holding teams accountable, and influencing across levels
• Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and relationship-building skills
• Ability to work in a global service delivery model with onshore and offshore resources
• Independent problem-solver with balanced judgment and adaptability
• Postgraduate qualification preferred
