SC Cleared Senior Test Automation Engineer

Overview

In this role you will design, develop and maintain automated tests and frameworks for a leading UK bank, integrating automation into CI/CD in an Agile environment. You will work with cross-functional stakeholders to define test coverage and continually improve automation tooling and strategies. The role sits in QualityAI’s Digital Assurance & Productivity team, offering an opportunity to shape testing capabilities across multiple platforms. This position requires SC clearance and offers hybrid Leeds or London work locations.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain automated test scripts and frameworks
• Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines
• Collaborate with developers, analysts and stakeholders to define test coverage
• Troubleshoot automation failures and investigate defects
• Improve automation frameworks, tools and processes
• Support implementation of effective testing strategies across applications and services
• Identify opportunities to enhance automation coverage, efficiency and reliability
• Maintain documentation around test automation and processes
• Collaborate within an Agile delivery environment
• Contribute to continuous improvement across testing and QA functions

Key requirements

• Strong understanding of software testing principles
• Hands-on experience with test automation frameworks and tools
• Experience with Selenium, Karate, SOAP UI, Postman
• Programming/scripting in Python or Java
• Experience with CI/CD tools and version control (GitHub Actions, Jenkins)
• Experience working in an Agile environment
• Familiarity with Cucumber / BDD
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
