Salary: £33,000 per annum + Overtime

Are you an experienced Mechanical Fitter, Machine Builder or Mechanical Assembly Engineer looking for a new opportunity?
We’re working with an established engineering business in Beccles that designs and manufactures bespoke automation equipment and machinery for customers across a range of industries.
They’re looking for a hands-on Mechanical Fitter to join their team, working on the assembly and build of complex mechanical systems and machinery.
This isn’t a repetitive production assembly role. You’ll be working with a variety of mechanical components, building equipment from engineering drawings and ensuring everything fits together accurately.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Building and assembling bespoke machinery and mechanical systems.
- Working from engineering drawings, technical specifications and assembly instructions.
- Carrying out precision mechanical fitting, alignment and adjustments.
- Using hand tools, power tools and precision measuring equipment.
- Assembling individual components into larger mechanical units.
- Checking completed assemblies for accuracy, fit and quality.
- Identifying and resolving mechanical assembly issues.
What We’re Looking For
- Previous experience as a Mechanical Fitter, Machine Builder, Mechanical Assembler or Assembly Technician.
- Confident reading and interpreting mechanical engineering drawings.
- Hands-on experience assembling mechanical components and machinery.
- Good understanding of mechanical fitting, alignment and precision measurements.
- Comfortable using a variety of hand tools and measuring equipment.
- Strong attention to detail and a practical, problem-solving approach.
Experience within special-purpose machinery, automation equipment, precision engineering or manufacturing would be particularly beneficial.
