Data Practice Lead Microsoft Fabric

Overview

In this role you lead a strategic Microsoft data capability within a leading tech-enabled consultancy. You own major client engagements across discovery, strategy, architecture, delivery and value realisation, translating business challenges into data, analytics and AI solutions. You’ll shape propositions, guide cross-functional teams, and drive growth through presales, partnerships and scalable delivery standards. This is a hands-on leadership role with a strong focus on customer impact, delivery quality and market presence.

Responsibilities

• Lead client engagements from discovery through value realisation
• Translate business challenges into data/analytics/AI solutions and provide technical direction
• Drive presales activity, discovery, solution design and proposals
• Define practice strategy, recruit and develop consultants, and establish reusable architectures
• Create delivery standards to scale the capability and ensure commercial outcomes
• Build relationships with the Microsoft partner ecosystem for joint go-to-market
• Influence business direction and shape market propositions around Microsoft Fabric, Power BI, and AI
• Collaborate with sector and account leaders to identify opportunities and lead client workshops

Key requirements

• Significant experience leading enterprise Data/Analytics/AI consulting engagements in a consultancy, SI, or technology services business
• Strong hands-on knowledge of Microsoft Fabric (data engineering, Lakehouse, warehouse, integration, governance, security)
• Power BI expertise (semantic modelling, governance, adoption)
• Broad knowledge of Microsoft data ecosystem (Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, Azure SQL, Purview, Power Platform)
• Client-facing delivery leadership with senior stakeholder management and risk/commercial experience
• Presales experience (discovery, design, estimation, proposals, bids, executive presentations)
• Commercial acumen balancing client value, delivery feasibility, and profitability
• Experience building teams, propositions, or scaling consulting capabilities
• Practical understanding of AI and generative AI, use-case discovery, data readiness, responsible AI and business process integration
