Senior Quantity Surveyor

Overview

As Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will lead cost and commercial management for Salutem’s growth and capital projects, establishing robust controls from opportunity appraisal to final account. You’ll shape a new commercial function while staying hands-on with priority projects. You’ll provide independent cost and risk advice, oversee tendering and valuations, and report at portfolio level to senior leaders. This is a high-impact role that blends strategy with delivery in a regulated care environment.

Responsibilities

• Own the commercial approach across the growth portfolio and set standards for cost planning, procurement and reporting
• Provide independent cost and risk advice on acquisitions, developments and major refurbishments
• Lead feasibility estimating, value engineering, tender processes and commercial negotiations
• Oversee valuations, variations, claims and final accounts during delivery
• Produce portfolio-level commercial reports for senior leadership
• Line-manage and develop the Quantity Surveyor

Key requirements

• Chartered Quantity Surveyor (MRICS) or equivalent professional standing
• with a relevant degree
• Substantial experience leading cost and commercial management across a portfolio
• Advanced knowledge of procurement, standard forms of contract, change control and claims
• Confident challenging senior stakeholders and leading negotiations
