Ocean Import Coordinator

Overview

In this role you will manage ocean import shipments from start to finish, ensuring smooth coordination across lines, agents, and customers. You will operate within a growing, collaborative freight-forwarding team and help deliver reliable import operations. The position offers ownership, variety, and clear progression as you handle documentation, customs, and issue resolution. You will be a trusted liaison, driving proactive updates and strong customer relationships. This is a hands-on role with real impact on service quality and operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Manage ocean import shipments from start to finish (FCL and LCL)
• Booking with shipping lines and overseas agents
• Prepare shipping documentation and handle customs/CDS
• Liaise with customers, hauliers, and agents
• Provide shipment tracking and proactive customer updates
• Costing, invoicing, and resolving operational issues
• Build and maintain strong customer relationships

Key requirements

• Proven Ocean Import / freight forwarding experience
• FCL & LCL knowledge
• Customs/CDS experience
• Excellent customer service and communication skills
• Strong organisation and attention to detail
• Ability to manage multiple shipments in a busy environment
• CargoWise experience is advantageous
