He is a bubbly, enthusiastic, 16 year old young person who is a pleasure to work with. He has a learning disability and ADHD. He has food allergies and carries an Epipen – training is provided in how to administer this. He lives in North Leeds (LS8).

Description of Young Person and Role
He is a bubbly, enthusiastic, 16 year old young person who is a pleasure to work with. He has a learning disability and ADHD. He has food allergies and carries an Epipen – training is provided in how to administer this. He lives in North Leeds (LS8).
Duties
The role involves providing respite to the parents and increasing his confidence and independence in the community. This includes:
Taking him to the gym and swimming regularly
Must haves
- A non-smoker is essential and car owner ESSENTIAL for this role, expenses paid.
Owning and driving your own care is necessary.
Hours & Pay
- evenings
- References relevant to post required on application and DBS (organised and paid for by Leeds City Council) will be required. Working hours after school and school holidays, with some work in the evenings when required
Rate of pay: £13.23 p/h
What skills/ characteristics are required for the role?
- Reliable and committed.
Experience of working with young people, SEND experience ESSENTIAL
Be energetic and enjoyment of physical exercise
- Being sensitive to his needs and feelings
- Good communication skills – with young person his family and other professionals in his life
- To work independently and remain calm under pressure
- To ensure he is safe and supervised at all time.
