Industry Technology Strategy & Architecture (ITSA)

About ITSA

Industry Technology Strategy & Architecture works at the intersection of business and technology, helping clients realise value from AI, technology and data. We define industry-relevant technology visions, build the case for change and design the enterprise architecture and roadmaps required for delivery.

Our work spans four solution areas: Business Technology Strategy; Technology Visioning, Future Technology and Innovation; Enterprise Technology, AI and Data Strategy; and Industry Enterprise Architecture. We deliver measurable outcomes by linking business priorities to technology investment, improving decision-making, reducing architectural complexity and identifying AI, data and digital opportunities.

Your Responsibilities

As a Senior Manager, you will set technology strategy for Financial Services clients, lead delivery, originate work and build the practice.

Technology strategy and transformation

  • Lead technology strategies that align business goals, investment, market change and regulation.
  • Prioritise value opportunities and present board-level options and trade-offs.
  • Design operating models, investment cases and multi-year roadmaps with measurable outcomes.
  • Link business priorities to technology investment, challenging assumptions with independent judgement.

AI, data and technology leadership

  • Define how AI, data and cloud-native technology enable reinvention and competitive advantage.
  • Lead scalable AI and data strategies, operating models and governance roadmaps.
  • Address model risk, data governance, resilience and regulatory requirements.
  • Use AI to accelerate analysis while independently validating outputs.

Delivery and client leadership

  • Lead complex, concurrent engagements, accountable for outcomes, quality and coherence.
  • Own engagement scope, mobilisation, commercials and financial performance.
  • Build trusted C-suite relationships and deliver clear, challenging advice.
  • Align senior stakeholders on direction, investment, expectations and delivery risk.

People development and practice building

  • Lead, coach and develop teams, including recruitment and performance management.
  • Shape practice strategy, targets, collaboration and knowledge sharing.
  • Champion Accenture’s values and recognise others’ contributions.
  • Meet the chargeability target (align to current practice target), with remaining time focused on sales and practice building.

Business development and thought leadership

  • Lead business development from opportunity identification to close.
  • Shape propositions, RFP responses, proposals and statements of work.
  • Drive cross-Accenture sales through client relationships and internal collaboration.
  • Publish thought leadership and represent the practice at industry events.

Core Consulting Skills

We are looking for the following skills and experience

  • Proven leadership of large, complex technology strategy engagements, with accountability for delivery, quality and business outcomes.
  • Strong command of strategy methods, including research, quantitative analysis, structured problem solving and executive communication.
  • Strong financial and commercial fluency, including modelling, valuation, business cases and key Financial Services value drivers.
  • Excellent board-level communication, influencing, negotiation and C-suite workshop facilitation skills.
  • Proven team leadership, coaching, people management and capability development.
  • Commercial acumen and a strong record of originating and closing work.
  • Ability to structure ambiguous problems, assure complex deliverables and challenge conventional approaches.

Technology Strategy Skills

  • Deep expertise in business and technology strategy, roadmaps and business cases.
  • Strong command of AI, data and emerging technology, including GenAI, agentic AI, cloud-native architectures and AI-ready data.
  • Ability to assess the feasibility, scalability, value and risks of technology choices in regulated environments.
  • Experience designing technology and business operating models and translating them into implementable change.
  • Broader capability in technology assessment, market and competitor analysis, ecosystem strategy and application strategy.
  • Track record of linking technology investment to measurable business outcomes.

Financial Services industry expertise

  • Strong understanding of the Financial Services landscape, market trends and participants across banking, capital markets, payments and insurance.
  • Familiarity with key sub-sector ecosystems, including banks, regulators, fintechs, payment providers, insurers and London Markets.
  • Depth in one or more areas such as products and channels, digital strategy, operating models or strategic cost reduction.
  • Understanding of regulation affecting technology investment, including operational resilience, AI governance and model risk.

Experience

  • Proven leadership experience of significant technology strategy engagements or programmes.
  • A strong Financial Services delivery record in consulting, industry or a comparable advisory setting.
  • Formal people management experience, including performance and career development.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent; an MBA or relevant MSc is advantageous.

Set yourself apart

We’re very interested in hearing from you if you have some or all of the following.

  • Recognised expertise in a Financial Services sub-sector or functional area, supported by a distinctive viewpoint on investment themes and client challenges.
  • Technology due diligence experience in a Financial Services M&A or private equity context.
  • An established senior network across the Financial Services technology C-suite.
  • Recognised thought leadership through publications, conference contributions or influence in practitioner networks.
