SENIOR MACHINE LEARNING ENGINEER

UK | Hybrid / Remote

We’re looking for a Senior Machine Learning Engineer to join a growing AI team, developing and deploying cutting-edge AI solutions for clients across sectors including government, finance, retail, energy, life sciences and defence.

You’ll take a hands-on role designing, building and deploying scalable, production-grade machine learning systems, while providing technical leadership, advising clients and supporting the development of other engineers.

THE ROLE

• Lead technical scoping and architectural decisions for high-impact machine learning systems
• Design, build and deploy production-grade ML software, tools and scalable infrastructure
• Operationalise machine learning models and support the full ML lifecycle
• Establish best practices for deploying and maintaining ML systems at scale
• Work closely with software engineers, data scientists, product managers and commercial teams
• Advise clients and stakeholders, translating complex technical concepts into practical solutions
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to engineering standards and best practices
• Ensure solutions meet operational, security and ethical standards

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

• Strong commercial experience in Machine Learning Engineering
• Strong Python skills and a solid software engineering background
• Experience operationalising models using frameworks such as PyTorch or TensorFlow
• Hands-on experience with AWS, Azure or GCP, including cloud architecture, security and infrastructure
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes for containerisation and orchestration
• Understanding of scalable, production-grade ML systems and infrastructure
• Experience working in fast-paced environments, taking ownership of projects and delivering solutions autonomously
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage technical teams and senior stakeholders
• Desirable: Consultancy experience, client-facing technical leadership and experience delivering AI solutions across multiple industries.
