Building Services Engineer

Overview

In this Building Services Engineer role you will lead a multi-skilled team to ensure reliable operation of HVAC, electrical, and related building systems in a large-scale retail warehouse. You will perform planned and reactive maintenance, supervise contractors, and support project work to keep facilities safe and compliant. You’ll work across office and warehouse environments, partnering with engineers and technicians to troubleshoot and optimise equipment. Responsibilities

• Carry out planned and reactive maintenance on mechanical (HVAC) and electrical (power, lighting) systems in a large-scale retail site
• Install, maintain, and commission building systems to ensure safety and compliance
• Supervise technicians and oversee contractor works and compliance
• Debug and diagnose equipment; lead practical application of technical tasks
• Support with contractor activities and administration of software systems used by the group
• Collaborate with internal departments and external contractors/suppliers
• Engage in small-scale project work and operational tasks as required

Key requirements

• Experience in warehouse/large site maintenance (planned and reactive)
• PASMA, IPAF, ladder safety or working at height training
• 5+ years in MEP or multi-trade roles
• Up-to-date 18th Edition
• Experience with hand and power tools
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
• Independent, proactive and tenacious problem-solver
