EHS Senior Consultant / Principal Consultant

Overview

In this role, you will join Arcadis’ EHS Advisory team to deliver Occupational/Workplace Health & Safety and Environmental support across diverse projects. You’ll balance technical delivery with business development, shaping solutions for clients while guiding junior staff and collaborating with senior leaders. Your work includes digital EHS tools, due diligence, and multi-project delivery, contributing to Arcadis’ sustainability-focused mission. This role offers hybrid work, international exposure, and opportunities for secondments to client sites.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor junior team members to support their professional growth
• Collaborate with Associate Technical Directors to develop client proposals and tailor solutions
• Split time between technical delivery and business development (~80:20) to grow services
• Develop digital EHS solutions (SharePoint, Forms, Power Apps, Power BI dashboards) for various clients
• Support occupational health & safety and environmental due diligence, audits, and gap analyses
• Conduct internal audits, investigations, and environmental/waste audits
• Provide EHS training development and delivery to clients and teams
• Engage with clients through meetings and proposals to expand offered services
• Support construction and refurbishment project EHS management
• Coordinate with transactional services for broader EHS opportunities
• Opportunity for short-term international travel and client secondments

Key requirements

• Experience as an EHS Consultant/Advisor/Manager or within a SHEQ function
• Strong knowledge of UK & Ireland EHS legislation and compliance
• Proven ability to deliver: ISO 45001/HSG65, ISO 14001, internal audits, incident investigations
• Experience with asbestos management and environmental permitting
• Experience with construction/refurbishment project EHS management
• EHS training development and delivery
• Membership of IOSH or ISEP; ideally CMIOSH/Graduate IOSH/Tech IOSH or ISEP Graduate/Associate with progression toward higher membership
• Ideally ISO 45001 Lead Auditor and/or ISO 14001 Lead Auditor
