Overview

In this role you own the core risk architecture to protect billions in global transfers. You’ll design high-throughput, event-driven systems for customer due diligence and fincrime detection across Europe and the UK. You’ll partner with Product, Compliance and Data Science to translate regulatory complexity into scalable code, delivering real-time, auditable risk decisions. This is a mission to enable safe, compliant money movement at scale, with opportunities to shape architectural practice and influence cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Design and scale distributed systems powering CDD/EDD and fincrime detection
• Set technical strategy and make architectural decisions; mentor senior engineers
• Collaborate with Product, Compliance and Data Science to translate regulatory requirements into high-performance code
• Own end-to-end implementation from design to production metrics (where applicable)
• Drive system reliability and real-time auditable risk decisions

Key requirements

• 7+ years of deep Java expertise leveraging Spring Boot
• Hands-on experience with event-driven architectures using Kafka and SQL
• Direct end-to-end product ownership experience
• Ability to translate complex distributed concepts for non-technical stakeholders
• Proven experience with modern CI/CD pipelines
• AML, KYC or fraud prevention experience (bonus)
