Company: Brewer Morris
Apply for the Tax Manager
Location: London
Job Description:

Looking to move beyond technical compliance work and into a varied, commercially focused in-house tax role? This could be an excellent next step in your career.

Brewer Morris Recruitment is working with a rapidly growing international business seeking a UK Tax Manager to join its Group Finance function. Reporting directly to the Head of Tax, this role offers a rare opportunity to help shape and enhance the tax function during a period of significant growth and transformation.

This is an ideal position for an ambitious tax professional who wants exposure across multiple tax disciplines, the opportunity to work closely with senior stakeholders, and the chance to make a visible impact on a global organisation’s tax strategy and governance framework.

The Opportunity

Joining a collaborative and high-performing finance team, you’ll work across a broad range of tax matters, supporting both day-to-day tax operations and strategic projects. The role offers exposure to UK tax issues as well as international considerations across several jurisdictions, making it particularly attractive for candidates looking to broaden their experience beyond a traditional compliance-focused position.

You’ll have the opportunity to:

  • Support the development and execution of the group’s tax strategy and governance framework.
  • Play a key role in major tax transformation projects, including tax technology and Pillar Two implementation initiatives.
  • Contribute to tax reporting, forecasting and provisioning processes.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to finance and operational stakeholders across the business.
  • Partner with external advisers and tax authorities on a variety of tax matters.
  • Help identify opportunities to improve processes, manage risk and support business growth.
  • Stay ahead of legislative developments and assess their impact on the business.

Why This Role?

This is far more than a traditional tax compliance role.

You’ll gain exposure to:

  • A broad range of taxes and commercial tax issues.
  • Tax technology and transformation projects, including Pillar Two.
  • Group-level tax reporting and governance.
  • Senior stakeholder engagement across finance, property, operational and leadership teams.
  • An international environment with exposure to cross-border tax matters.

For someone coming from practice, it’s an excellent opportunity to move into a genuinely commercial in-house role where you can see the direct impact of your work on the wider business.

About You

We’re keen to speak with tax professionals who can demonstrate:

  • Approximately 1-2 years’ post-qualified experience.
  • Broad tax experience, with strong corporation tax knowledge and exposure to at least one other tax area.
  • Good understanding of tax accounting under IFRS.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical matters to non-tax stakeholders.
  • A proactive mindset and enthusiasm for improving processes and driving change.
  • A commercial, solutions-focused approach to problem solving.

What’s on Offer?

  • Hybrid working with a London office presence.
  • Significant exposure to senior leadership and strategic projects.
  • The chance to join a growing international organisation at an exciting stage in its journey.
  • Broad tax exposure and outstanding long-term development opportunities.
  • A highly visible role where you can influence the evolution of the tax function.

Unfortunately, this role will not offer visa sponsorship.
