Reinsurance Director

Overview

In this role you will shape CNA Hardy andInternational segment reinsurance strategy, aligning with underwriting priorities and group objectives. You will design and oversee placements to optimise structure and cost, and build strategic broker and reinsurer partnerships. You’ll lead ongoing improvements to reinsurance systems and processes while deputising for the AVP Reinsurance. You’ll contribute to a high-performing team and ensure regulatory and counterparty requirements are met. Responsibilities

• Shape reinsurance strategy for CNA Hardy and International segment
• Design and deliver reinsurance placements optimizing structure, coverage and spend
• Build and manage long-term partnerships with brokers, reinsurers, and key stakeholders
• Oversee reinsurance systems, data and processes; drive operational improvements and risk management
• Deputise for the AVP Reinsurance; develop the placement team and ensure regulatory/compliance requirements

Key requirements

• In-depth outward reinsurance knowledge with general insurance experience
• Ability to develop reinsurance plans, assess changes, and translate strategy into placements and budgets
• Relevant business degree and/or senior-level experience in global insurance/financial services
• Excellent stakeholder management; experience presenting to committees/boards and external representation
• Strong numeracy and Excel skills; experience leading a placement function and driving improvements
