Ocean Import Specialist

Overview

In this role you will oversee ocean import shipments from start to finish, coordinating bookings, documentation, customs clearance, and liaising with customers, hauliers, and overseas agents. You drive proactive updates, cost control, and issue resolution while building strong client relationships. Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end ocean import shipments (FCL & LCL)
• Book with shipping lines and overseas agents
• Prepare and process shipping documents and customs/CDS
• Liaise with customers, hauliers, and agents
• Track shipments and provide proactive customer updates
• Handle costing, invoicing and operational issue resolution
• Build and maintain strong customer relationships

Key requirements

• Proven ocean import / freight forwarding experience
• FCL & LCL knowledge
• Customs/CDS experience
• Excellent customer service and communication skills
• Strong organisation and attention to detail
• Ability to manage multiple shipments in a busy environment
• CargoWise experience is advantageous
