Job Description:

Private Client Solicitor – 1–6 PQE

Hertfordshire | £50,000–£60,000 | Hybrid Working

An established law firm in Hertfordshire is looking to appoint a Private Client Solicitor with 1–6 years’ PQE to join its established team.

This is a good opportunity for a solicitor looking for a strong existing caseload, as there is a substantial amount of work already available within the department. The successful candidate will therefore be able to take on established client work and begin billing from an existing caseload rather than having to build a workload from scratch.

The Role

You will have a broad Private Client remit, advising clients across areas including:

  • Wills and estate planning
  • Probate and estate administration
  • Lasting Powers of Attorney
  • Trusts
  • Inheritance Tax planning
  • Deeds of Variation
  • Court of Protection work
  • General Private Client advice

You will manage your own caseload, work directly with clients and contribute to the continued development of the department.

About You

The ideal candidate will have:

  • 1–6 years’ PQE with solid Private Client experience
  • Experience handling a broad range of Private Client matters
  • The ability to manage their own caseload with appropriate supervision
  • Strong client-facing and communication skills
  • A commercial approach and confidence working towards billing targets

Candidates at different stages within the 1–6 PQE bracket will be considered, with the firm happy to discuss salary depending on experience and overall suitability.

Salary & Benefits

  • £50,000–£60,000 salary
  • Flexibility to discuss salary for the right candidate
  • 25 days’ annual leave
  • Christmas closure
  • Bank holidays
  • Bonus opportunities
  • Simplyhealth medical and dental insurance following probation
  • 3-month probation period
  • Hybrid working

Following successful completion of probation, the initial arrangement is one day working from home per week, increasing to two days thereafter where targets are being achieved.
