Financial Accountant

Overview

In this role you will support monthly IFRS reporting for BMW UK subsidiaries and contribute to statutory financials and management reporting. You will lead digital finance initiatives, deploy AI-enabled solutions, and work with global partners to ensure high-quality, timely financial outputs. The position blends traditional accounting with modern analytics and automation to improve efficiency. This is a hands-on role with a clear impact on finance transformation and accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Monthly IFRS reporting for BMW UK subsidiaries
• Preparation of statutory annual financial statements
• Contribution to monthly management reporting
• Support external audit processes
• Lead digital transformation initiatives within Finance
• Identify and deploy AI-enabled automation in accounting workflows
• Promote adoption of intelligent tools and RPAs in finance
• Shape financial planning processes (budgets, rolling forecasts, cashflow)
• Collaborate with UK/international partners and HQ process owners
• Ensure deadlines, financial integrity, and compliance

Key requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in business-related field with focus on accounting and finance
• Professional accounting qualification (ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent) desirable
• Experience in financial accounting and audit (client-side or audit practice)
• Experience in international company or Big Four beneficial
• Knowledge of IFRS and FRS101
• Interest in digital finance, automation, analytics including AI-enabled processes
• Experience with SAP S/4HANA, SAP SAC or similar ERP/tools beneficial
• Coding experience (Python preferred) for automation desirable
• Self-starter with strong attention to detail and ability to meet tight deadlines
