Head of Risk Management

Overview

Senior leadership role to build and steer a UK-wide risk management proposition within a global insurance broking group. You will define strategy, shape services, and work directly with clients to deliver practical risk advice that strengthens relationships and differentiates the offering. This role combines strategic influence with hands-on consultancy, aimed at growing the function and embedding risk management across the client base. You will collaborate with broking teams and senior stakeholders to maximise impact and resilience.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement the UK risk management strategy
• Create a consistent, high-quality client proposition for the commercial insurance portfolio
• Provide senior-level risk management advice to clients across sectors
• Collaborate with business owners, boards, and senior teams
• Support broking teams with client retention and new consultancy opportunities
• Oversee risk assessments, surveys, and loss prevention activities
• Identify opportunities to create new services and improve client experience
• Establish processes, standards, and reporting for the function
• Foster internal engagement to promote effective use of risk management
• Grow the practice and plan resources to support growth

Key requirements

• Strong experience in commercial insurance risk management at a senior level
• Experience across broker, insurer, or consultancy environments with understanding of risk management in client relationships
• Experience working with clients at multiple levels across diverse industries
• Relevant professional qualifications: CFPA, NEBOSH, IOSH or CBCI
