Manufacturing Process Engineer

Overview

As a Manufacturing Process Engineer at BAE Systems in Glascoed, you will develop and optimize production processes, ensure safe operations, and support project delivery from concept to commissioning. You will lead process risk assessments, implement Safe System of Work, and coordinate equipment commissioning with suppliers. You’ll manage process data through the PLM system while collaborating with a multi-disciplinary team on high‑volume manufacturing solutions for defence technology. Responsibilities

• Develop new processes aligned with engineering plans and budgets
• Create robust, cost‑effective technical solutions that meet customer expectations
• Develop safe systems of work for new processes
• Ensure processes comply with controls for long-term stability (PFMEAs, Process Control Plans)
• Specify and commission new equipment with suppliers under tight deadlines
• Coordinate and manage project data files (trials data, drawings, specifications, certification, safety data) in the PLM system
• Lead and support process reviews, capability studies, and Safe System of Work
• Support project activities across process definition through to installation and commissioning

Key requirements

• Minimum HNC / HND Mechanical, Electrical, Manufacturing, or Chemical or equivalent experience
• Strong understanding of project/risk management tools and techniques
• Solid technical and manufacturing background with ability to meet tight deadlines
• Experience in high-volume manufacturing environments
• Self-motivated with good planning and organizational skills
