Cyber Security Ops. Specialist

Overview

In this role you will apply technical security expertise to protect enterprise systems, networks and data while advising customers. You will work within a security team to design, configure and harden platforms and to ensure policy compliance across on‑premise, off‑premise and cloud environments. You will lead security consultancy efforts, manage vulnerabilities and coordinate pen tests and IT health checks. You will engage stakeholders from senior management to engineers, mentoring peers and shaping secure delivery for BT and its clients. Responsibilities

• Security design lead, configuring and hardening systems to policy and business requirements
• Lead role in technical security policy compliance
• Security consulting into customer and internal systems across on‑premise, off‑premise and cloud solutions
• Enterprise‑level software & hardware vulnerability testing; coordinate Pen Testing and IT Health check lifecycles
• Stakeholder management across senior to support teams; clear communication to technical and non‑technical audiences
• Mentor and coach junior colleagues as part of development programs
• Threat hunting and platform remediation; identify IoCs and analyse estate for vulnerabilities
• Technical security toolset development and management at an enterprise level

Key requirements

• DV security clearance
• Understanding of security assurance and compliance processes (UK frameworks)
• Varied skills across main technical vendors for systems and networks
• Good knowledge of Incident Management Process
• Recognised industry security qualifications (e.g., CCP Security Architect, OSCP, CEH)
