Data Engineering Consultant

Overview

In this role you will design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines to help clients extract value from data assets. You will collaborate with developers, managers, and business stakeholders to align data solutions with strategy, translate requirements into delivery plans, and ensure data quality and governance. You’ll work in a data and analytics delivery team, applying cloud technologies to create automated pipelines and robust data workloads. The opportunity sits within our Infrastructure Digital – Data and Analytics practice, contributing to sustainable, data-driven outcomes for major clients.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to define data landscape components and align with data strategy
• Translate end-user requirements into designs and delivery plans for data solutions
• Design, develop, automate, and maintain data pipelines using cloud technologies
• Analyze and resolve data quality issues across pipelines and datasets
• Build and maintain data workflows and supporting infrastructure within a delivery team
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and advocate for them within the team
• Mentor and develop team members, fostering a high-performance, inclusive culture
• Translate knowledge and experience into new ideas or solutions for data platforms
• Contribute to development and maintenance of documentation and processes

Key requirements

• Experience with Databricks, Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Lake, Azure Synapse (and data warehousing approaches) or SSIS
• Proficiency in SQL, Python, Spark, DAX
• Understanding of DevOps practices, CI/CD (Azure DevOps preferred), Git/version control
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for mixed technical audiences
