Transport First Line Manager

Overview

In this role you will lead a busy transport operation at DHL, driving safe, compliant and efficient service delivery. You will inspire and develop a team of drivers and transport colleagues to sustain high performance in a fast-paced environment. You’ll monitor fleet utilisation, route execution and driver compliance to meet service levels. You will champion a culture of safety, accountability and operational excellence while partnering with cross-functional teams to solve problems and improve outcomes. Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day transport operations to deliver service quality and performance
• Lead, coach and develop drivers and transport staff
• Monitor fleet utilisation, route performance and driver compliance
• Ensure activities comply with safety, company policies and legal requirements
• Conduct driver briefs, debriefs, investigations and performance reviews
• Plan resources, manage absence and drive employee engagement
• Promote safety culture and operational excellence
• Maintain accurate transport records and comply with hours, Working Time Directive and vehicle legislation

Key requirements

• Previous experience in transport, logistics or distribution
• Proven leadership experience managing operational teams
• Strong knowledge of transport operations and compliance requirements
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
• Competent IT skills, including Microsoft Office and transport management systems
