Risk & Underwriting Associate Analyst – Cigna Healthcare

Overview

In this role you support the SME Underwriting team in Glasgow by assessing financial risk for new business quotes and renewals, and by negotiating terms with Sales and Client Management. You will monitor contract performance and collaborate across Finance, Actuarial, Systems, Legal, and Operations to deliver effective outcomes. You’ll mentor juniors, share insights, and provide regular reports to stakeholders. This position offers cross-functional exposure within a trusted, growth-oriented healthcare leader.

Responsibilities

• Perform case-specific risk assessments within GEH to support underwriting decisions
• Negotiate terms with Sales and Client Management for new business and renewals
• Monitor earnings plans to support growth and profitability
• Analyze portfolio performance and provide actionable feedback
• Support Experience Underwriters with large group cases and complex schemes
• Mentor junior team members and support their development
• Provide monthly reports to key stakeholders across relevant departments
