Head of IT Operations Azure

Overview

In this role you will own IT operations across a cloud-enabled estate, balancing Azure and AWS platforms within a regulated banking environment. You will drive service delivery, service transition and governance to ensure safe, reliable production readiness and efficient change management. The role requires collaborating across teams to unify cloud operations and implement bank-grade controls that support growth without adding bureaucracy. You will influence incident, performance and supplier governance while shaping operating practices for scalable, compliant technology services.

Responsibilities

• Own service delivery, service transition, and operational governance across Azure and AWS.
• Lead production readiness, handover, and change management processes.
• Manage incident and performance management and supplier governance.
• Define controls, processes, and operating practices for growth within a regulated environment.
• Bring together Azure and AWS environments with governance that enables speed and compliance.

Key requirements

• Experience in IT Operations / Service Delivery / Service Transition within a dual-regulated environment (FCA and PRA).
• Banking or financial services background preferred.
• StrongService Delivery and Change Management skills.
• Strong technical knowledge of Azure.
• Comfortable leading technical discussions and decisions.
• Collaborative, pragmatic with excellent communication and client-facing skills.
