Principal CDM and H&S Consultant

Overview

In this role you deliver CDM and H&S consultancy from our Sheffield office, tailoring services to client needs. You will develop and improve existing CDM/H&S processes, act as Principal Designer when required, and help clients meet legal responsibilities. You’ll build trusted client relationships, manage commissions, and support team collaboration to ensure consistent, high-quality delivery. This position offers meaningful work on diverse projects with a focus on safety, compliance, and client service.

Responsibilities

• Understand client needs and proactively identify solutions to their challenges and ensure service excellence
• Develop existing systems and processes to improve CDM and H&S efficiency
• Provide expert advice and act as Principal Designer when required
• Establish positive client relationships to gain confidence and become a trusted advocate
• Represent the company professionally in meetings and correspondence with clients
• Manage commissions to meet client scope and business requirements
• Carry out H&S performance reviews and audits for the client
• Liaise with SHQ and TT colleagues to support team effectiveness and ensure project profitability
• Compile and create pre-construction information and H&S files

Key requirements

• NEBOSH Construction Certificate
• Full UK driving licence
• NEBOSH Diploma Level (or equivalent)
• GradIOSH or equivalent
• Membership of the APS
• Experience as a Principal Designer
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to plan and organise workload to meet deadlines
• Extensive knowledge and experience within the Construction Industry, specifically around CDM Regulations
• Experience across a diverse range of industry sectors would be advantageous
