Company: Lane Clark & Peacock LLP.
Apply for the Head of Treasury
Location: London
Job Description:

We are a tech-enabled consultancy known for our market leading advice in pensions, investment and insurance, and we strive to help create a financially better future for our society. Our love of data, technology and posing solutions to the difficult questions of today, has taken us into newer areas. We now have a reputation for excellence in energy transition, health analytics and sport analytics.

This is a newly created role, following the completion of LCP’s new financing arrangements and reflecting the increased scale and international reach of the Group. The Head of Treasury will be the firm’s first dedicated treasury specialist, owning cash, liquidity, banking and lender compliance across the UK and overseas entities. You will report to the CFO and work closely with Group Financial Control, Tax and FP&A.

The role requires someone who can implement the agreed facilities cleanly, keep the Group compliant, and build the forecasting, banking and control framework that a growing, leveraged professional services group needs. It suits a hands‑on treasurer who is comfortable working without a team and presenting to the CFO, ExCo and lenders.

What will you be doing?

Facility Implementation & Lender Compliance

  • Deliver all post-completion conditions subsequent to deadline, including security and account control arrangements, working with legal as needed
  • Own covenant monitoring, headroom forecasting and the preparation of quarterly compliance certificates
  • Meet all information undertakings and lender reporting obligations on time, and manage the facility agent and lender relationships day to day
  • Track permitted baskets and consents so that acquisitions, additional debt and member distributions stay within facility terms
  • Build and run a 13-week direct cash forecast and a rolling 12-month liquidity forecast for the CFO, ExCo and Board
  • Report forecast accuracy and explain variances, improving the quality of cash information across the Group
  • Manage the daily Group cash position, RCF drawings and repayments, and short-term deposits

Banking & Cash Management

  • Rationalise the Group’s bank account structure and implement cash pooling where efficient
  • Own bank mandates, signatory lists and KYC across all entities
  • Maintain relationships with the Group’s banks and review banking costs and services
  • Manage the repatriation of cash from overseas subsidiaries within facility and tax constraints
  • Implement any interest rate hedging required under the facilities, and develop and run an FX policy for material non‑sterling exposures
  • Settle intercompany balances to an agreed timetable, applying the Group transfer pricing policy to intercompany funding and maintaining intercompany loan agreements
  • Plan cash for members’ drawings, profit distributions and tax reserves around the January and July payment dates

Policy, Controls & Governance

  • Write and maintain the Group treasury policy, including hedging and counterparty limits, for Board approval
  • Own payment controls, fraud prevention and segregation of duties over cash
  • Work with Tax, who own transfer pricing policy and documentation, and with Group Financial Control on intercompany accounting and recharges
  • Support the CFO on future refinancing, facility amendments and M&A funding as required

What skills, qualities and experience are we looking for?

  • AMCT or MCT (ACT) qualified, or a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with substantial treasury experience
  • Demonstrable experience operating under a syndicated or leveraged facility, including covenant compliance, compliance certificates and lender reporting
  • Track record of building and running cash forecasts in a multi‑entity, multi‑currency group
  • Hands‑on experience of group bank account management, mandates and KYC
  • Strong understanding of treasury controls and payment security
  • Ability to work independently, with sound judgement on when to escalate
  • Clear communicator, able to present to the CFO, ExCo and lenders and build credibility with non-finance partners
  • Experience in a private equity‑backed business, ideally through a completion or refinancing
  • Experience implementing cash pooling or a treasury management system
  • Exposure to cross‑border cash repatriation and FX hedging
  • Experience within an LLP or partnership structure, including member drawings and distributions
  • Background in professional services or consulting
