Technical Services Manager

Overview

In this role you will own the technical delivery across a portfolio of prestigious West End office buildings. You will lead M&E services, drive compliance and health & safety, and coordinate with Building and Property Managers to keep assets safe, efficient and resilient. You’ll manage contractors, oversee maintenance and lifecycle projects, and contribute to energy efficiency and budget planning. This is a hands-on leadership role at a premier property portfolio, offering impact through engineering excellence and cross‑functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Oversee technical and engineering services across a portfolio of prestigious commercial office buildings
• Manage M&E and specialist contractors, monitoring performance against KPIs and service levels
• Oversee planned preventive and reactive maintenance across mechanical and electrical plant
• Ensure statutory compliance and engineering-related health & safety requirements are maintained
• Carry out regular technical audits and inspections across the portfolio
• Review RAMS, permits to work and relevant technical and compliance documentation
• Provide technical support and guidance to Building Managers and Property Managers
• Oversee plant replacement, lifecycle, refurbishment and capital expenditure projects
• Support the preparation and management of engineering, maintenance and lifecycle budgets
• Identify opportunities to improve energy efficiency, plant performance and building resilience
• Manage relationships with clients, occupiers, consultants and service partners

Key requirements

• Previous experience as a Technical Services Manager, Technical Facilities Manager, Engineering Manager or similar in commercial property
• Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical building services, PPM, statutory compliance and contractor management
