About The Priory Care Home, Chippenham

The Priory Care Home is a privately owned residential care home set in a beautiful Grade II listed Edwardian building on Greenway Lane, Chippenham, Wiltshire. We care for up to 23 residents in a warm, genuinely homely environment that has been trusted by Chippenham families for over a century.

We are consistently recognised as one of the most respected care homes in Wiltshire, known for our exceptionally high standards, compassionate ethos, and the genuine family atmosphere we create for every resident. Our home is regulated by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) and we are immensely proud of our track record of delivering outstanding person-centred care.

We believe firmly that the quality of care we provide is only ever as good as the people who deliver it. That is why we invest heavily in our staff through comprehensive induction training, NVQ qualifications, ongoing professional development, and a truly supportive working environment where every team member is valued.

The Care Assistant Role

We are looking for a warm, dedicated Care Assistant to join our night team, working hours of 10pm to 7:30am. This is a genuinely rewarding role where you will be at the very heart of everything we do — providing person-centred care that enables our residents to rest comfortably and safely throughout the night.

No previous care experience is required. What matters most is that you share our values: kindness, patience, respect, and a genuine desire to make a meaningful difference in the lives of older people. You will receive a comprehensive induction training programme and ongoing support from our experienced management team.

An Enhanced DBS check is required for this role — we cover the full cost on your behalf.

  • Warm, compassionate and patient nature
  • Ability to work reliably on a night shift (10pm – 7:30am)
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Previous care experience is welcome but not required — full training provided
  • Ability to work as part of a small, close-knit team
  • Right to work in the UK
  • Willingness to undergo an Enhanced DBS check (cost covered by The Priory)
