This is a varied, hands‑on role working closely with directors, workshop management and employees across the business. You’ll take ownership of policies, audits, records and renewals, while helping day‑to‑day operations run smoothly.

Key Responsibilities

Compliance & Quality

  • Develop, implement and review company policies, procedures and compliance systems.
  • Monitor relevant legislation, industry standards and contractual requirements, communicating changes and coordinating actions.
  • Plan and conduct internal audits, identify gaps and follow corrective actions through to completion.
  • Maintain compliance records, document control and schedules for audits, inspections and renewals.
  • Coordinate ISO certification requirements and external audits, supporting the quality team with documentation.
  • Identify compliance risks, report concerns to directors and track agreed actions.
  • Support investigations into incidents, complaints and non-conformances, ensuring lessons learned inform procedures.
  • Coordinate compliance training and promote awareness of company policies.
  • Support data protection, confidentiality and secure information handling.
  • Review supplier and subcontractor compliance documentation and liaise with external auditors and advisers.

People, Health & Safety

  • Coordinate health and safety records, risk assessments, inspections and follow‑up actions with workshop management.
  • Support recruitment administration, inductions, onboarding, leavers and employee record keeping.
  • Coordinate T Level placements and apprenticeships, liaising with providers and supporting progress reviews.
  • Maintain training and qualification records, arranging courses and renewals before expiry.

Business & Operational Support

  • Coordinate IT equipment, software, user accounts, access permissions and external IT support.
  • Manage facilities administration, utilities, maintenance and other business services.
  • Support supplier administration, payments, direct debits, invoicing and credit notes.
  • Work with operations and workshop teams to coordinate supplies and day‑to‑day requirements.
  • Act as a central point of contact for employee queries, taking ownership of business administration and following tasks through to resolution.

About You

  • Experience in compliance, quality systems or a similarly varied business support role.
  • Understanding of ISO certification, audits, document control and compliance processes.
  • Highly organised, with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Confident communicating with employees, directors, suppliers and external organisations.
  • Proactive and comfortable taking ownership, resolving queries and keeping actions on track.
  • Discreet and professional when handling confidential information.
  • Confident using Microsoft Office and business administration systems.

Experience within engineering or manufacturing would be particularly beneficial.
