Assistant Quantity Surveyor

My well established construction client specialising in refurbishment and fit-out projects, is actively looking to appoint a Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join their team in Oxford.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop their commercial career within a supportive construction environment, gaining hands-on experience across a range of refurbishment projects.

The Role

Working alongside experienced commercial and project management professionals, you will support the financial and commercial management of projects from pre-construction through to completion.

• Assisting with the preparation and management of project budgets and cost plans
• Supporting the procurement and subcontractor tendering process
• Reviewing subcontractor quotations and preparing comparisons
• Assisting with valuations, variations and change control
• Monitoring project costs and maintaining accurate commercial records
• Supporting the preparation of payment applications and final accounts
• Assisting with subcontractor and client meetings
• Working closely with site and project teams to understand project progress and commercial performance
• Developing your knowledge of contracts, procurement and construction cost management

I am looking for a motivated and commercially minded individual who is keen to build a long-term career in quantity surveying.

You may be:

• An Assistant Quantity Surveyor with some construction experience
• Working towards, or interested in pursuing, a professional qualification such as RICS
• Experience within refurbishment, fit-out or general building construction would be advantageous, although a strong attitude and willingness to learn are equally important.
