We’re looking for a motivated and enthusiastic IT Technician Apprentice to join our school community and kick-start an exciting career in IT. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain real-world experience, develop valuable technical skills, and earn a recognised qualification while working alongside experienced IT professionals. What You’ll Be Doing As our IT Technician Apprentice, you’ll play a key role in supporting the technology that helps our school run smoothly every day. You’ll learn how to:
- Support and maintain computer networks, hardware and software
- Help manage Microsoft 365 and online systems
- Troubleshoot and resolve IT issues for staff and students
- Set up and maintain laptops, desktops, printers and other devices
- Work with external IT support partners and suppliers
- Deliver excellent customer service while providing technical support
- Support the development and maintenance of school ICT systems
No two days will be the same, and you’ll gain hands-on experience across a wide range of technologies supporting our students and staff. Your Apprenticeship During the apprenticeship (typically 18 months), you’ll work towards the Information Communications Technician Level 3 Apprenticeship through our training provider, Babington College. You will receive:
- A dedicated Apprenticeship Trainer
- Regular virtual coaching sessions
- Formal reviews and observations every 12 weeks
You may also be required to complete Functional Skills in Maths and English, depending on your existing qualifications.

Previous IT experience isn’t essential. Enthusiasm, curiosity and a positive attitude are what matter most.
