Quantity Surveyor / Estimator

Sphere Solutions are working with a successful construction company in North Devon to recruit an experienced Quantity Surveyor / Estimator to join their established contracting team.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing business delivering a varied portfolio of commercial construction projects, typically valued between £1m and £2m, with larger schemes reaching £10m.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Preparing cost estimates and budgets for commercial construction projects.
- Supporting tender submissions and working closely with the bid team.
- Reviewing and interpreting construction drawings, specifications and tender documentation.
- Liaising with clients, consultants, contractors, suppliers and subcontractors.
- Monitoring project costs, expenditure and financial performance.
- Identifying cost-saving opportunities and value engineering solutions.
- Negotiating contracts with suppliers and subcontractors.
- Managing valuations, payments and accounts.
- Undertaking site visits to assess progress and verify quantities.
The successful candidate will have:
- Proven experience in Quantity Surveying and Estimating within the construction industry.
- A strong understanding of commercial management, cost planning and financial control.
- Excellent numerical, analytical and organisational skills.
- Strong communication and negotiation abilities.
- Experience using 4PS Construct would be advantageous, although training will be provided.
