Compliance & Governance Manager

Overview

In this site-based role you own the compliance and governance framework across vehicle Type Approval, CoP, and safety regimes within an engineering environment. You will drive audits, CAPA/NCR governance and ensure robust document and change control, partnering with Engineering, Production, Supply Chain and Facilities. You influence release decisions where regulatory or safety concerns arise and act as the go-to expert for regulatory and quality assurance. Your work supports continuous improvement, risk reduction and regulatory readiness. This position offers autonomy, technical variety and long-term stability.

Responsibilities

• Own Type Approval & Conformity of Production governance, registers and evidence
• Lead Health & Safety management system activities (risk assessments, COSHH, PUWER, LOLER, RIDDOR)
• Manage ISO 9001/QMS and internal audit programme, document control and management reviews
• Run CAPA / NCR governance, ensuring actions are owned, closed and verified
• Site-based in Bristol with travel to suppliers, customers, regulators and external audits
• Maintain statutory registers and ensure regulatory and safety impacts are assessed before release

Key requirements

• Compliance / quality / H&S / regulatory experience in engineering, manufacturing, Automotive or similar
• Type Approval / CoP exposure (desirable)
• NEBOSH General Certificate (or equivalent) minimum
