Organisation and Workforce Development Advisor

Overview

In this role, you’ll help manufacturing SMEs transform through organisation and workforce development, with a focus on digital adoption. You will join a regional, remote-friendly team within the Economy & Growth group, driving strategic OD initiatives to support business growth and innovation. You’ll work with senior leaders, partners, and training providers to diagnose needs, design and deliver OD/HR programmes, and enable effective digital transformation. The role offers meaningful regional impact, collaboration across the South East, and opportunities to shape Surrey’s economy.

Responsibilities

• Deliver OD/HR advisory support to manufacturing SMEs, focusing on industrial digital technologies adoption
• Diagnose organisational and workforce development needs and design actionable plans
• Deliver one-to-one and workshop-based OD programmes and advisory support
• Collaborate with Technology Adoption Specialists to align leadership and staff with digital transformation
• Manage a portfolio of organisations remotely across a broad region and meet programme targets
• Engage with organisations across the skills ecosystem (HEIs, FE colleges, training providers) to support delivery

Key requirements

• Significant knowledge of organisation and workforce development, especially for manufacturing SMEs
• Experience diagnosing OD/HR needs and delivering related programmes
• Experience engaging with senior management and cross-sector collaboration
• Understanding of national/regional digital skills landscape
• Ability to work in fast-paced, target-driven environments
