Senior Legal Counsel – Financial Services – Regulatory

Overview

In this role you will serve as the go-to regulatory lawyer for a leading global financial services group, providing regulatory guidance to senior stakeholders. You will cover UK and EU regimes (EMIR, MiFID II, CRD VI) and support strategic, commercial initiatives, including digital assets. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to translate complex regulations into actionable advice, shaping how the business operates within a evolving regulatory landscape. This is a high-visibility position with senior stakeholder exposure in a sophisticated in-house team.

Responsibilities

• Provide legal and regulatory guidance to senior stakeholders across the business
• Advise on UK and EU regulatory matters including EMIR, MiFID II, CRD VI
• Support strategic and commercial initiatives with regulatory input
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to manage regulatory risk and ensure compliance
• Monitor regulatory developments and translate impacts into actionable recommendations

Key requirements

• Qualified lawyer in England & Wales or equivalent
• 4+ years’ PQE
• Strong UK and EU financial services regulatory experience
