Operational Service Manager

Overview

In this role you lead the Specialist Older Adult Mental Health services (SOAMHs) in North West Sussex, guiding multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality, cost-effective care. You will drive service planning, performance targets and workforce development while ensuring strong partnerships with stakeholders and responsive service user involvement. The position focuses on service innovation, change management and safeguarding excellence in patient care. Responsibilities

• Provide integrated managerial and professional leadership within the Leadership Team
• Achieve and monitor performance targets aligned with contractual and regulatory frameworks
• Manage services within financial resources, pursuing cost efficiency and clinical value
• Plan and deliver business objectives, service plans and change projects with a customer-focused approach
• Respond to SUIs, complaints and communications with timely investigations and implemented recommendations
• Participate in on-call management rota

Key requirements

• Degree or diploma level education with a relevant qualification or equivalent experience
• Clinical/post-graduate management qualification or equivalent level of experience
• Extensive experience in managing health/social care services
• Proven ability in change management, financial recovery plans and efficiency savings
• Experience in modernising services without additional resources
• Experience developing partnerships and stakeholder engagement in service redesign
• Project management experience and imaginative planning
• Proven track record in managing a diverse, multi-site practitioner team
• Measurable experience in involving and motivating staff to improve performance
