Job Overview
GenTech Recruitment is currently recruiting for an experienced Warehouse Shift Supervisor to join a well-established logistics and distribution company based in Nutts Corner.
This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated and hands-on supervisor with experience in a busy warehouse environment who is confident managing staff, coordinating daily operations and ensuring productivity targets are consistently achieved.
The successful candidate will play a key role in overseeing warehouse operations, managing staff performance and ensuring goods are processed efficiently and safely.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate daily warehouse operations during the evening shift.
- Lead, motivate and manage a team of warehouse operatives.
- Allocate daily duties and workloads to ensure operational targets are achieved.
- Organise staff rotas, shift cover and staffing requirements.
- Monitor warehouse productivity and ensure deadlines are consistently met.
- Oversee the movement, handling and processing of goods.
- Ensure an efficient workflow across the warehouse.
- Support staff training, development and performance management.
- Assist with employee appraisals, return-to-work meetings and disciplinary procedures where required.
- Identify and resolve operational issues to minimise disruption.
- Maintain high standards of Health & Safety and housekeeping.
- Work closely with management to ensure smooth warehouse operations.
Essential Requirements
- Previous supervisory or team-leading experience, ideally within a busy warehouse or logistics environment.
- Strong leadership and people management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience organising staff rotas and arranging shift cover.
- Excellent organisational and communication skills.
- Confident delegating duties and managing workloads.
- A proactive, hands-on approach with a positive attitude.
- Ability to work the required 4-on, 4-off shift pattern.
- Strong awareness of warehouse Health & Safety procedures.
Desirable Experience
- Previous experience using handheld scanners or warehouse scanning systems.
- Experience conducting staff appraisals, investigations, return-to-work meetings or disciplinary procedures.
- Experience working within logistics, distribution or a high-volume warehouse environment.
