Senior Technical Accounting Manager

Overview

Join Wise’s Finance team as Senior Technical Accounting Manager focused on financial instruments under US GAAP and IFRS. You will own accounting for treasury products, document positions, and support product implementation while communicating with non-finance stakeholders and external auditors. You will work cross-functionally to embed accounting into business processes and update policies for new products. This role sits at the intersection of finance and product in a fast-growing fintech with a mission to enable borderless money movements. You will help scale our technical accounting capability in support of Wise’s transformation.

Responsibilities

• Ownership of accounting for financial instruments under US GAAP and IFRS, including understanding products, documenting accounting position papers, supporting implementation, and explaining accounting to stakeholders and auditors
• Collaborate cross-functionally to embed accounting into the business and update policies to reflect new treasury products and services

Key requirements

• Strong knowledge of accounting for financial instruments under US GAAP and IFRS
• Professional finance qualification (ACA, ACCA, CPA or equivalent)
• Experience tackling technical accounting for financial instruments and managing accounting implementation projects
• Ability to work independently and take ownership over complex new areas
• Adaptable and able to re-prioritise tasks to meet business needs
• Strong communication and collaboration skills in an international team
