Overview

In this role you support a national law firm’s Banking & Finance team in Cardiff, working with major UK banks and lenders on complex funding transactions. You will collaborate with lender and borrower clients, advise on facility agreements, and help steer transactions from start to finish in a collaborative, high-performing environment. This is an opportunity to deepen expertise in banking and finance while contributing to diverse funding projects and cross‑functional teams. You will engage with clients and overseas counsel, delivering precise drafting and commercial advice.

Responsibilities

• Represent major UK banks and alternative lenders on funding transactions
• Support corporate and property teams on multidisciplinary funding deals
• Advise on banking contracts and facility arrangements
• Handle acquisition finance, property finance, asset-based lending, restructuring and refinancing
• Prepare and negotiate facility agreements and related documentation
• Lead or support transactions from start to completion
• Attend client meetings and coordinate with overseas counsel as needed
• Ensure high-quality drafting, negotiation and commercial advice

Key requirements

• Experience in banking and finance law (PQE level open)
• Strong drafting and negotiation skills
• Excellent attention to detail and commercial awareness
• Ability to manage transactions independently and within a team
