Head of Commercial Property – Sr Solicitor (3+ PQE Considered)

Overview

In this role you lead the Commercial Property division in Bristol, managing a mix of freehold/leasehold work, landlord/tenant matters, and development projects. You will work with senior solicitors, associates and a paralegal to grow the department, while supporting corporate and litigation work where relevant. You’ll shape strategy, oversee a busy caseload, and contribute to business development and market positioning. This is a senior, impact-driven opportunity in a respected firm that values growth and collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Advise on acquisition and disposal of freehold and leasehold property
• Act for landlords and tenants on grant of new leases
• Handle assignments and lease renewals
• Support development projects, including lease schemes
• Advise on overage and land option agreements
• Provide property support to corporate team on business and share sales
• Support the litigation team on property matters
• Work under director level supervision and help shape the department’s growth

Key requirements

• 3+ years’ PQE in commercial property
• Strong communication skills
• Ability to build strong client and professional relationships
• Excellent drafting and legal analysis
• Confidence managing a busy caseload
• Strong teamwork skills, especially with junior colleagues
