HSE Manager

Overview

In this role you lead HSE across the Banbury site, driving a safety-first culture and continuous improvement within a high-tech, automated chocolate manufacturing environment. You’ll partner with site leadership to set HSE direction, ensure compliance, and advance sustainability initiatives as part of Barry Callebaut’s transformation. You will influence behaviours, coach managers, and shape environmental performance to support business objectives. The opportunity offers meaningful impact on safety, compliance and sustainable manufacturing at scale.

Responsibilities

• Champion a culture of shared accountability for Health, Safety and Environment across the site
• Identify HSE priorities, risks and opportunities and implement site-wide strategies
• Lead audits, risk assessments and improvement programmes to maintain high standards
• Coach and develop managers and team leaders in HSE management and ownership
• Drive sustainability initiatives and contribute to environmental improvement programmes

Key requirements

• Experience leading HSE programmes in manufacturing/industrial settings
• Strong knowledge of health, safety and environmental legislation and management systems
• Experience with ISO 45001 and ISO 14001
• Proven track record in audits, risk management and interaction with regulatory bodies
• NEBOSH Diploma (or equivalent)
