What makes Spectrum different
We are not just another care agency. Spectrum is a Disabled People-led Organisation, founded in 1984 and run by and for disabled people in Southampton. That changes how the work feels.
- Led by disabled people Spectrum is a Disabled People-led Organisation. Disabled people set our direction, sit on our board and shape how support is delivered.
- The person is in charge, not the rota Support is built around what each person wants from their day. You work to their choices and their routine, not a fixed task list.
- Small, consistent teams You get to know the people you support properly, rather than a different address every hour. Relationships are the point of the job.
- Over 40 years in Southampton We have been part of this city since 1984, working alongside local people, families and services rather than parachuting in.
- Training, supervision and a voice You get proper induction and ongoing training, regular one-to-one supervision, and a real say in how support is run.
