The Opportunity

An established multidisciplinary engineering consultancy is seeking a Project Geotechnical Design Engineer to join its growing Geotechnical team within the Sustainable Infrastructure group.

This role would suit a Civil Engineering graduate or Geology graduate with a Master's in Geotechnical Engineering who is keen to develop their professional skills within a dynamic consultancy environment. You will contribute to a diverse portfolio of infrastructure projects across roads, greenways, active travel, renewable energy, water, waste and other major developments.

Key Responsibilities

• Undertake geotechnical assessments, including peat stability and ground conditions.
• Manage and supervise site investigations and associated field activities.
• Carry out geotechnical design for roads, highways, active travel and greenways earthworks.
• Design and assess slope stability, retaining structures and structural foundations.
• Prepare and manage CAD documentation in collaboration with CAD technicians.
• Work closely with engineers, scientists, graduates and other technical specialists.
• Attend site visits, client meetings and multidisciplinary coordination meetings.
• Support the delivery of projects within agreed timescales, budgets and quality standards.
• Follow company quality, environmental, health and safety procedures and relevant legislation.

About You

• Degree in Civil Engineering or Geology, with a Master's in Geotechnical Engineering.
• Experience in geotechnical engineering design, preferably within infrastructure projects.
• Experience in a consulting engineering or similar professional environment.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD and geotechnical design software.
• Interested in progressing towards Chartered Engineer status.
• Strong analytical, organisational, communication and project management skills.
• Able to coordinate effectively with multidisciplinary teams and manage competing priorities.
• Self-motivated, adaptable and comfortable working independently and as part of a team.
• Willingness to travel to project sites and client meetings.
• Full driving licence required.
