The Opportunity

An established engineering consultancy is seeking a Project/Senior Project Engineer – Roads and Transportation to join its Sustainable Infrastructure team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated civil or transportation engineer to contribute to a diverse portfolio of projects, including national road schemes, greenways, active travel, public transport and major design-and-build projects.

The successful candidate will work within a multidisciplinary team and gain exposure to projects throughout the full project lifecycle, from preliminary design through to detailed design and tender documentation.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop transportation and infrastructure projects.
• Prepare technical reports, preliminary and detailed designs and tender documentation.
• Contribute to projects throughout their full lifecycle.
• Apply relevant transportation design standards and guidance.
• Work closely with civil engineers, technicians, ecologists and environmental specialists.
• Support the successful delivery of projects within agreed timescales and quality requirements.
• Identify project issues and work collaboratively with colleagues to develop effective solutions.
• Ensure compliance with quality assurance and management systems.
• Take ownership of assigned tasks and contribute positively to multidisciplinary project teams.

About You

The ideal candidate will have:

• A degree in Civil Engineering or Transportation Engineering.
• A minimum of 2 years' postgraduate experience designing transportation projects in Ireland or the UK.
• An NFQ Level 9 qualification is advantageous.
• Experience working with relevant design standards, including TII, DMURS and the Cycle Design Manual.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD.
• Experience using Civil 3D is desirable.
• Strong technical, analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
• A collaborative and proactive approach to project delivery.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
