English Second Language Teacher

Overview

Join Cosmo 1:1 (formerly ClassUp), the premiere online learning platform that connects K-12 students with tutors for personalized lessons. As a Cosmo 1:1 tutor, you will teach ESL to students based in Singapore and Hong Kong using the Cosmo curriculum with a flexible schedule you set. Classes are 50 minutes each, 1-on-1, at a set time each week.

This role offers an after-school teaching opportunity where you will be a reliable, prepared, and engaging role model for students.

Responsibilities

• Provide personalized 1 on 1 instruction for your students
• Update your availability in the Cosmo App in a timely manner
• Prepare appropriate lesson materials for the student’s age and ability
• Submit class feedback after each lesson
• Communicate with parents and students in a professional manner
• Attend all classes on time and in a professional setting
• Communicate with Cosmo staff

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree
• 3 years of experience teaching grades K-12 in ELA
• Experience with K-12 ELA standards and curriculum
• Experience teaching ESL learners
• Teaching qualification preferred but not required
• Fast and reliable internet connection and access to a Windows or Mac PC with a minimum CPU of 6000
• Able to commit to a minimum of 6 months of teaching with Cosmo 1:1
• Available between 8-2 PM GMT on Monday through Friday or 5 AM – 2 PM GMT on weekends
• Minimum of 20 hours of availability on a weekly basis
• Access to a private and quiet location
• Currently located in the UK
• Approachable, patient, adaptive, considerate, enthusiastic, and reliable in online teaching
